Subcommittees

The work of the Cape Fear Homeless Continuum of Care is conducted both in the Board of Directors meetings and those of the various subcommittees, both standing committees and ad hoc committees, as well as various work groups.  All CoC partner agencies are encouraged to help staff the committees to ensure the voices of our community partners are heard.

Current Sub-committees of the Cape Fear Homeless Continuum of Care (CFHCOC) are listed below. Each committee will be Chaired by CoC Board member, as appointed by the CoC Board Chair.  CoC members are encouraged to participate on committees.  Committees may be created, dissolved or renamed by the CoC Board and in accordance with the CoC's By-laws.

Oversight Committee

Purpose: This committee reviews complaints, grievances, and audit findings/concerns that impact partner agencies to ensure the integrity of program operations.

Structure Committee: Responsible for CoC Governance Documents

Purpose: To develop, revise, maintain structure and policy documents related to the administration of the Tri-HIC, including its Board.

Lived-Experience Advisory Board - NEW!!

Committee Leadership: Pending Appointment

Purpose: To provide feedback, recommendations, and information from program participants and community members currently experiencing homelessness in order to inform strategic planning, board decisions, policy development and funding decisions. This feedback is critical to ensure our neighbors experiencing homelessness have their voices heard and that their voices inform agencies and decision makers in real time.

Homeless Veterans Strategy Team

Coordinated Entry Committee: Setting Policies, Procedures and Revising Documents for Coordinated Entry System

Purpose: The committee is responsible for the integrity and sufficiency of the CoC's Coordinated Entry and Referral processes.

This committee will be working on the revision of our CES Assessment as we create a method to replace the ViSPDAT.

Ranking Committee: Rating, Ranking and Funding Recommendations

Purpose: To develop grant application policies & procedures, scorecards, and training guidance. To score and rank applications for State and Federal grant opportunities.

EHV, STABILITY VOUCHER & HCV COMMITTEE

Purpose: To develop policies and procedures for working with the local PHAs and specifically for voucher programs such as the Emergency Housing Voucher (EHV) Program

Point-In-Time & Homeless Service Events Planning Committee - NEW!!

Purpose: To provide event planning for CoC sponsored events including PIT.

Frequency: PIT Seasonal meetings beginning July/August each year - as needed to plan for PIT. Other events - meeting will be determined by chair.

Rural County Sub-committee: Brunswick

Committee Leadership: Pending Appointment

Purpose: To address homelessness issues unique to Brunswick County and seek regional and local solutions, build on partnerships within the region, and to develop resources within Brunswick County. To develop point-in-time count strategies for Brunswick.

Frequency: Monthly

Meeting Scheduled: 3rd Monday of the month at 1 pm
