Cape Fear Homeless CoC Membership

Provides a safe place for victims of commercial sexual exploitation and domestic sex trafficking. This means not only meeting the physical needs of survivors, like housing and clothing, but it also means a place where girls and young women can get medical counseling, mental health services, occupational training and more. A Safe Place, also provides training and education to our community in order to raise awareness about sex trafficking and to ensure that victims get connected to programs and people who can help them. Brunswick Partnership for Housing (BPH) is a local, volunteer, non-profit that provides safe transitional housing and a stable living environment for homeless families who seek a permanent place to live, work and raise their families. Click this link for more information.

Providing shelter and on-going direct services including but not limited to 24-hour crisis intervention, emergency shelter, advocacy, counseling, information/referral, criminal justice system assistance, emergency transportation, provision of necessities, support and educational groups, and children’s programs. Family Promise helps address the root causes of family homelessness, addressing the issue holistically, providing prevention services before families reach crisis, shelter and case management when they become homeless, and stabilization programs once they have secured housing to ensure they remain independent. Click here for their website.

Programs include: the Soup Kitchen; Second Helpings food salvage and distribution program; Transitional and permanent supportive housing; a Day Shelter providing the homeless with access to showers, clothing, transportation, and on-site mental health and health services; and a Night Shelter with 118 beds for homeless men, women, and families with children. Provides transitional living and case management services to meet the immediate needs of men and women returning from prison. We also offer culturally-specific youth development services for African American young men ages 16-24. For more information Click Here.

PCCS provides services to Pender County residents that enhance quality of life and strengthen the community. In addition to providing food, clothing, and furniture, they serve as a disaster recovery resource, provide workforce training opportunities; and refer those in need to other community organizations. Click here for their website.

First Fruit Ministries provides day shelter, food pantry, permanent supportive housing and a variety of support services to assist individuals and families experiencing homelessness in New Hanover County. Permanent housing is accessed through the CoC's Coordinated Entry System. The day shelter program is open Tuesdays for Women Only and Thursdays for men and women. The Warming Shelter is a pop-up shelter that opens to assist people experiencing literal homelessness on those nights when the temperature drops below 30 degrees.
