The North Carolina Department of Transportation has partnered with Horizon Coach Lines to provide a daily coach service to connect the Cape Fear area with Charlotte, and by extension the statewide intercity bus system. The fixed schedule route leaves Wilmington at 7:20 AM, arrives in Charlotte at 1:20 PM and returns at 9:50 PM daily. The bus also makes stops at 6 destinations along US-74, with a detour to Fayetteville along the way. A ticket for the trip will cost $57, but senior citizens, children and students receive a discounted rate of $47.
